Guilty as Charged
As an avid collector of guitars I have been asked the same question by all of my non-musician friends. They ask, "Why do you need so many guitars?"
If you are a guitar player you can skip this section because you already know the answer.
For the rest of you who might have this question on your minds let me tell you the answer. A guitar is just a mass of wood and wires. It's sole purpose is to serve a human counterpart and help find the beauty and grace which exists deep within the player's soul. It is a key which will open the door to a kingdom of musical majesty. As you journey through this mystical place you notice several passageways leading to different places.
And now you look at your guitar collection and you see that each one lends itself to playing a particular style of music and thus becomes a key to each different passageway.
As we play and become better at our craft, our journey through this musical land becomes even more pleasurable and certainly more rewarding.
Now when my friends ask me why I collect so many guitars I just smile and tell them that the guitars actually collect ME!
